Clinical Trial Coordinator | Registered Nurse
Kathryn joined Aim Research in late 2024, bringing over 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a primary focus on Peri-anaesthesia. Throughout her career, she has explored various specialties and worked in both public and private healthcare sectors. Kathryn holds a Master of Nursing degree, and in 2024, a few travel nursing contracts offered her valuable insights into healthcare accessibility in regional areas.
Her previous experience in clinical trials spans over 3 years, primarily in Oncology, with some exposure to Cardiology trials. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at HMRI and is currently collaborating on another project. Kathryn is pursuing studies in Nutrition, with a particular interest in Weight Management for the prevention and control of chronic health conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Her passion for clinical trials stems from her belief in the potential to provide participants with access to treatments they might otherwise not have. She is especially driven to improve accessibility for regional and non-metropolitan populations, advocating for decentralized clinical trials. Kathryn envisions clinical trial participation becoming a standard aspect of healthcare.
Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys walking her small, fluffy dog wherever he leads and staying active to maintain muscle health and prevent joint issues. She’s also looking forward to a trip to Africa to celebrate a significant birthday in a couple of years. When it comes to wine, Kathryn enjoys both red and white, in line with her colleagues’ preferences.
